Stacie's wedding diary
Episode 22

You would think that with all the conversations I had about my wedding with my family over the last couple of weeks, I would be leaving Detroit with some idea of what was to come. But, in what appears to be an ever increasing pattern, my wedding plans are still so far from completion that it is not funny. Not funny at all since I am now getting a bit stressed out about whether I will still be able to reserve a place. I was absolutely spot-on that my father and stepmom would return from their cruise having changed their minds.

In more successful news, I have found a few places to choose from. All are very interesting, beautiful, and historic places around the Detroit area so at the very least, that is once everyone decides on a place, I should be pretty happy.

As well, I discussed my job prospects with Gareth. Even with the ability to support us both with the extra money I would get, there is no guarantee they would let him in the U.S. without a job. And since he can not work in the States, and I would be paying for both of us, the salary would no longer seem so large. So there you have it. I have decided with Gareth to remain poor and unemployed in London.

And speaking of my student status, I start my full-time teaching practice this coming week. I have been preparing for quite some time and have some teaching experience now under my belt, but I still feel nervous. But of course, I do not feel nervous enough to spend all my time planning the classes on the plane. I have most of the beginning of the term already done, so I am going to sit back and watch the movie. After this holiday, I need some time to relax.
