I probably should not be saying this. In fact I am quite certain that at some point my parents are going to find this site and I will be in serious trouble. But I have tried to be honest about the circumstances revolving around my wedding and so I feel justified in saying the following.
SORT YOUR LIFE OUT!
Parents on both sides are causing enough grumbling to equal any tremors in California. My mom called me this weekend and told me she was not pleased with the location. She feels it is in a bad area of Detroit and even with the valet parking, the venue provides, she does not feel comfortable inviting anyone when they will have to leave their cars out on the streets. I told her that the area was fine and that I thought her real problem was that she felt my father and stepmom were leaving her out of the deciding process. I told her she should talk to them. I mentioned to my father that my mom felt a bit left out and he said he did not care. Okay...
I have taken the stance now that the most important thing about the day is that I am marrying Gareth and the rest should just fall into place. In the grand scheme of things it is just a big party, right? Right?!?
In the meantime, I should spend more time concentrating on the wonderfully fun aspects of the wedding like our night out with the Party Express, Gareth getting dressed up by Youngs, or taking pictures with Brett Killington. Speaking of which, fear not, those photos are on the way. 6 March 2000,
Stacie Lewis
