Crazier things have happened than my parents agreeing on wedding issues but it seems like it just may happen. They have not met yet for the big meeting, but they are speaking on the phone and making arrangements in a most normal fashion. And good for them, because Gareth is coming in next week and I would love for it all to be settled before he arrives.
Parental difficulties are surely a problem for other brides and grooms besides myself. But for me, having my family at my wedding and enjoying themselves was a big concern. And maybe I should have been a little more forthright with what I wanted from the start, but I was so worried about everyone getting what they wanted. I feel more involved now in the wedding than ever.
The biggest excitement though of the week happened completely unexpectedly. While prowling for wedding gowns with my mom, I found a dress at a store near me that I had seen before at a different store and loved. It was a little less expensive at this store, but still totally out of our price range. After talking with the store manager though, we found out that we could purchase the dress for half off. My sister came in from out of town to check it out. And now Mom and I plan on going to pick it up later this week. 17 April 2000,
