Episode 41

Well as it turns out some strangeness did ensue when I called my mom to get her thoughts on the miracle deposit.

My mom had spent the week in a melodramatic fever, biting her nails, waiting for my father to call and inform her that the place for our wedding had been stolen out from underneath us. The wedding co-ordinators from the Mansion had called her earlier that week and told her that someone else was interested in our day. (I would point out here that the people at the Mansion are much smarter than me. This was a really good ploy. I should have had someone do it months ago.) She frantically called my father, who told her he would take care of it, and then promptly did. Of course he failed to mention this to my mother. This act has not gone unnoticed by my mom, let me tell you.

Conveniently, my father has left on another vacation and so is unavailable for comment.

As you might have guessed, the Mansion is the location of both my wedding and the dinner following it. It is a beautiful place. It is not the sprawling Dynasty-like house you would imagine at the word mansion. It is actually not that large, but is a gorgeous looking home. It was built by one of the automotive giants about 100 years ago. And it does have the advantage of being on the highest point of elevation in my corner of the state. Therefore, during the ceremony, which is outside in their gardens, if our guests tire of the beauty of the moment, they can gaze upon an entirely different kind of beauty, that of south-east Michigan. It will be wonderful to show my friends a part of my state which is truly majestic.

Funnily enough, the caterers for the Mansion were also the caterers for my sixteenth birthday party. Then we had hotdogs.
